WHAT ABOUT ME
Adrian is the principal of THENUMB3RSCOUNT and is recognized as the "can do guy,” because he has successfully implemented 30 NVUM projects throughout the country.
A big fan of conservation education, Adrian helped create a partnership between USDA Forest Service and the Los Angeles Conservation Corps which brought federal dollars to high schools in the underserved neighborhoods of Los Angeles, including EcoAcademy in the Pico-Union and Youth Opportunities High School in Watts in 2007.
This endeavor built upon the legacy of More Kids in the Woods, USDA’s continuing commitment to get kids outdoors and connected to the natural world around them through $1 million in funding.
But in 2008, the country's economy had taken a turn for the worse, but Adrian persevered. As as an avid outdoor enthusiast former Marine, he came up with the idea of turning his passion for the outdoors into a successful company. Adrian took time in the woods to ponder the thought. He spent many days and nights in the deep recesses of the wilderness before walking out with his business idea. Hanging up his government uniform (Adrian is a former Forest Service employee), he launched his small business. This took guts after the country's "bubbles" had burst, rather blew up, and Adrian's adventure began. And in 2009 his big risk paid off and as a young entrepreneur, he found business opportunities on several National Forests.
Today Adrian is making the numb3rs count in the great outdoors! Adrian's NVUM projects have taken him clear across America from the Smoky Mountains in Georgia to Big Sur in California and from Yellowstone in Wyoming to the Continental Divide in Colorado and from the Great Basin in Nevada to the Saguaros in Arizona. One day he hopes to reach Alaska.
You get it, right?
Adrian holds a bachelor's degree in Latin American studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a graduate certificate in sustainable natural resources from Oregon State University and has over 10 years of experience in federal lands management.
